Craft Workshops at The Potter's Lodge

The Potter's Lodge, an idyllic and picturesque property nestled in the rolling hills near Foster, South Gippsland, by store owner Shelley Panton and her partner, Arron.  Shelley produces her functional pottery alongside Arron's wood workshop. The pair have their craft studio's set up side by side, and in their spare time they are either working in the garden or slowly restoring their retro Cape Cod home.

You can find Arron's woodwork here, and Shelley's pottery is available from our bricks and mortar store in Toora, or Click Here to view our Pottery Online.

To hear when we release our next round of workshop dates be sure to sign up to our monthly newsletter.  The sign up form can be found at the base of our website.

Please note, we do not teach pottery on the wheel as it is quite a technical craft that requires more learning than you can do in one day.

Booking Terms & Conditions:

All attendees to our property must be paid, ticketed guests.

Should our event be cancelled due to a Government instructed COVID lockdown, the hosts will offer a full refund.

The host does not offer a refund for change of mind, or if you find you can't attend after you have already paid for your date.

Your booking can be transferred to another person if you know of someone who can fill your spot.  We ask that you contact the hosts prior to the event should you be wishing to transfer your spot to another person.

Please note: we do not take responsibility for pottery student's work cracking in the firing stage, which is most often caused by how the maker assembled the piece. We will show you how to avoid this during the class so your piece can be enjoyed for many years, but in the unfortunate event that your piece does not come out fully assembled in the firing piece The Potter's Lodge will not be liable.

We ask workshop attendees collect their pottery pieces within 3 months of when they are ready at a mutually agreeable time. We can post finished pieces upon request. We charge postage at Australia Post rates.  Any uncollected pieces will be donated to our local charity shop.

If it's raining (as it often does in South Gippsland) our event will still go ahead.  Please allow extra driving time to drive safely.

Persons attending our property for a workshop must be over 18 years of age.

Any dietary requirements must be advised to your hosts prior to the day of your arrival.  While we will do our best to accomodate your dietary requests, we cannot guarantee there will be no traces of nuts, dairy, gluten etc.

The Potter's Lodge disclaims to the extent permitted by law all liability whatsoever for any loss, injury, or damage sustained by any customer or third party, whether to person or property, arising out of any workshop, farm stay, or related activity presented by The Potter's Lodge.

The Potter's Lodge in its responsibility to you, and the environment in which we conduct our product, is covered by Public Liability Insurance, in the hope that it is not needed. We manage this responsibility with the utmost care. It is always strongly suggested that our clients have their own personal insurance. Our Public Liability cover is closely scrutinised, and in the event of a claim, all dealings will be managed by our policy holder.
