The Panton Store is an boutique retailer. Established in Melbourne in 2009, our store is now based in Toora, South Gippsland.
We stock a range of quality and practical home goods, and we have an opening for a Retail Sales Assistant to join our small owner-operated team.
The ideal candidate for this role would be a good all-rounder who has the following skills and attributes:
-Minimum 3 years experience in a retail or customer service based role
-Can demonstrate excellent customer service and sales skills
-Strong computer and administrative skills, and are comfortable using Apple, Word, Excel, and a POS program such as Vend, Square, or Shopify
-Prior experience handling an inventory and stocktake, and you understand the importance of accuracy when handling numbers
-Clear communication skills and good interpersonal skills
-A strong work ethic with the ability to think on your feet in a fast paced environment
-A strong sense of initiative, can follow instructions, and are naturally an organised person
-Are comfortable working on your feet, going up and down a ladder several times a day, and are able to handle large boxes of stock
-You are well presented, have a great eye for detail, and you would enjoy keeping our store clean and tidy
-You have a down-to-earth can do attitude, and can focus on working through what is required each shift
-You’d be a people person who enjoys engaging with all age groups and walks of life
-Knowledge and a passion for craft, cooking, gardening, DIY, and design would be advantageous
-Prior experience handing online sales and packing sales orders would be a bonus

We are seeking a candidate who would like the opportunity to bring their existing skills to the role, whilst having the opportunity to grow and develop their professional skills within our team.
To begin the role will be casual: Friday and Saturday 9.30am-5.30pm, and there is scope for this role to be three days per week, or full-time (Tuesday-Saturday) for the right candidate. Tell us in your cover letter what you are looking for.
To be successful for this role you must be available to work every Saturday, and you don’t have any outside commitments that would effect your ability to attend your regular rostered days.
