FULL-TIME RETAIL SALES ASSISTANT 

Commencing October:

Put your best foot forward to join our established homewares, gift and lifestyle store this Spring.  If you have a passion for homewares, pottery, plants, books, cooking, and good living, you may like to know our boutique business will have an opening for a Full-time Sales Assistant.

We are a family owned and operated business who manages all elements of running a boutique retail business in-house. This role would suit a retail all-rounder who has a diverse skill set and who would thrive on having variety within a structured role.

To be successful for this role you would need to have good knowledge of our style of product offering, and your administration skills and eye for detail would be as sharp as your sales, communication, and customer service ability to assist our store manager in the smooth running of our business. 

We pride ourselves on having kept our business stable and trading strong throughout the past two years of the pandemic, so we are looking for a candidate who is looking for a stable base and who sees themselves in this role long term as this role has the opportunity to progress within our business to an Assistant Manager position for the right candidate. 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

-Minimum five years' retail experience
-Strong customer service and sales ability within a retail environment
-Phone skills and the ability to communicate well with people of all ages
-Confidence in handling transactions and varying pricing structures
-Visual merchandising, window dressing and store presentation to a high standard comes naturally to you
-Great communication skills come easy to you, and you are fluid in being able to communicate with warmth and grace in a face paced environment
-Ability to achieve positive outcomes for our sales, customers experience and our team culture
-You can keep a stockroom tidy, organised and in good order to achieve workplace OH+S standards
-You can work to a brief and are a team player who is self-motivated to keep our store running smoothly
-You are highly organised and can think on your feet in a busy retail environment and thrive when under pressure
-You can demonstrate that you are a lateral and logical thinker in how you approach things
-You'd enjoy working on your feet, and are comfortable going up and down a ladder when handling stock and merchandising the store
-The ability to take great photos of our store for social media would be a bonus
-Excellent computer and administration skills including accuracy when handling stock and sales
-You have inventory experience; receiving stock, managing stock, and stocktake.
-You have worked on VEND and Shopify or a similar retail platform
-In your previous role/s you have processed both online sales, and in-store sales
-You have handled Click & Collect sales and understand the process of packing online orders and fragile goods
-Experience booking couriers for online orders
-Good knowledge of excel and word

-You are naturally affable and personable with all clientele, suppliers, and couriers in accordance with the brand’s position and core values
-You have a passion for homewares, design, indoor plants, and a good knowledge of craft materials
-A full-time role within an independent business excites you, and you are looking for a long-term role
-Must love dogs, as we are a dog friendly store

The position is five days per week, which includes a Saturday each week (and the six Sunday's prior to Christmas). 

We are looking for a person who is fully available for this role who has no other outside employment commitments or aspirations that would affect their availability to fulfil the full-time position requirements.

CHRISTMAS CASUAL ROLE - Commencing Late October:

Christmas Casuals must be fully available to work every weekend in November and December, be super organised and must love gift wrapping in a fast paced environment.
We are happy to hire juniors who are looking to gain training and experience in their first retail role.  Our customer service style is personable and helpful.
Above experience, we are looking for team members who have a wonderful spirit and can do attitude who enjoy working on their feet.
